Bad Yogi Approved Green Smoothie + A Confession Session

Bad Yogi Approved Green Smoothie + A Confession Session

How do you know you’ve found a green smoothie recipe that will stand the test of time? I’m not sure, but a good indication is that I’ll not only drink it, but LIKE it. I’m here with a great, go-to green smoothie recipe that I know you’ll love, so stay tuned for that below… So, I go through my emails every morning to respond to your questions and read the stories you send me about your journey and life, and it’s one of my favorite parts of the day. Sometimes you make me cry with how heartfelt you are, and other times I’m laughing out loud! I love that you trust me with your stories and your practice, so in the spirit of sharing (and over sharing, haha), I wanted to do another Bad Yogi confessional because let’s be real: getting nosey is fun! 😉 1) I have a guilty pleasure (actually, I have many!) and as of late that’s watching garbage TV passively. Each morning after I wake up, I go downstairs to ship your bad yogi tanks and respond to urgent emails and while I’m doing that… *drum roll* … I watch old episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians! DID I JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD?! I know, I know– people with some sense of pride aren’t supposed to voluntarily admit to watching such nonsense, but I DO and I don’t know why! I just can’t look away… Can we still be friends anyway? PLEASE?! 2) I’m gearing up to teach at the Princeton Yoga Center in a few weeks and I’m SO NERVOUS! I know I’m...

20-Minute Yoga: A Flow for Hamstring Flexibility

Hi everyone! Happy Friday What do you have planned this weekend?! I’ll be planning classes for the challenge coming up in August and I. CAN’T. WAIT. For you guys to see it. It’s gonna be pretty epic! In the meantime, how about a little yoga to stretch you out before the weekend officially begins? This is a great class for those of you who complain about having super tight hamstrings, can’t touch your toes, and even have a bad back. Sometimes lower back pain is referred from being chronically tight in the hams, so it never hurts to cover all your bases. Even if none of the above applies to you, this will be a relaxing way to come out of your work week and relax before weekend festivities What do you think of this one? Do you have a question about this class? Ask in the comments & I’ll get right back to ya!...
Ask Erin: Can Yoga & Religion Coexist?

Ask Erin: Can Yoga & Religion Coexist?

Hmm, isn’t religion one of those things you’re never supposed to bring up at a dinner table conversation? Maybe, but you guys know I’m not one to follow rules anyway 😉 I was asked this question a few times and then got a message from someone sharing her journey to yoga from a religious standpoint. She always believed you had to adhere to a certain belief system to be a yogi, and was happy to learn that this isn’t the case. So after I saw her message, I figured I might as well answer this question that’s been floating around: “Erin, are you religious?” Something a lot of people don’t know about me is that I actually went to Catholic School for 9 years and it was exactly as you’d envision: nuns, plaid jumpers, Wednesday mass, and no make-up, nail polish, or PDA allowed. Actually, one time I got a detention because my mom sent me to school in pants with pockets (!!!) on a chilly day instead of my traditional skirt, haha! Of course it sounds totally insane now, but it’s funny because I never really thought about it being that weird until I grew up! I can’t say that I still practice Catholicism, but I do still consider myself to be very Spiritual. Even though “spirituality” has gotten kind of a hokey wrap over the years, the way I interpret spirituality is that I believe in God, I believe in miracles, I don’t believe in accidents, and I believe there’s a force bigger than my own desires that has my back, so to speak. It’s pretty simple. I...
Bad Yogi Shopping Guide: Yoga Pants!

Bad Yogi Shopping Guide: Yoga Pants!

I think it’s so awesome/funny that at least 20% of my daily emails are to ask where I get my yoga pants, and I’m even more glad I’ve captivated you for such deep, meaningful reasons, lol. Ok, I’m just messing with you 😉 But, if you’ve been wondering where on Earth to find some funky, summery yoga pants, you’re asking the right person because if I’m honest, I do consider myself somewhat of an expert 😉 I really can’t resist a gorgeous pair of yoga leggings (it’s a problem, actually!) and luckily, I had no shortage to wear while filming MyYogaPro. For those of you who have been asking, here’s where I get my favorite ones: Liquido Active. I’m obsessed with these. They’re so incredibly soft and never dig in anywhere. I have to admit that I wore these off the mat all the time too, so they work pretty much everywhere, if you ask me! Onzie. Onzie has always been a favorite of mine. They’re especially awesome for hot yoga because they dry super fast when you sweat. They fit great and change up their patterns every few months so you’re never short on choices! Lululemon. Notice the black leggings NOT being see-through. Win. 😉 But really, these have been my go-to black leggings for years because they’re so durable and fitted. Seriously, I have the same pairs that I’ve worn for 5+ years and wear them all the time. Another bonus: they won’t move around or ride up even when you’re working hard. Kira Grace. All of their designs are extremely elegant and streamlined, so they fall...
